NOTICE of GENERAL ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at the usual polling places in the precincts of Stanton County, Nebraska an election will be held.  Said election will be for electing candidates to various offices and voting on various issues.  All offices are four year terms unless otherwise noted.  Some races or issues may not appear on your ballot as candidates and issues are elected by specific subdivisions, districts or wards.  Polls will open at 8:00 o’clock A.M. and close at 8:00 o’clock P.M.  No poll site will be available for castings votes in the following Mail Only Precincts:  Butterfly, Dimick, Haymow, Maple Creek, Ramshorn and Union Creek.

Proposed 1½% Local Option Sales Tax

and Increase in Restricted Funds Budget

"Shall the governing body of the City of Stanton, Nebraska impose a 1½% sales and use tax upon the same transactions within the City of Stanton, Nebraska on which the State of Nebraska is authorized to impose a tax?  The proceeds collected therefrom to be used specifically for any lawful purpose which may include, but not be limited to, repair of streets and bridges, infrastructure within the city limits, general property tax relief, funding the payment of capital improvements which shall include the payment of interest and principal of any bonds and the principal and interest of any loan funds used to finance capital improvements, and shall the City of Stanton, Nebraska increase its budgeted restricted funds for fiscal year 2013-2014 by $100,000.00 over the current year's restricted funds according to the adopted 2012-2013 budget statement?  The sales and use tax improsed herein shall not have sunset date."
